Nathan W. Tilman D.D.S, P.C.
Dr. Nathan W. Tilman is originally from Salisbury, Maryland, received his Bachelor of Science from Wake Forest University in 1997. He received his doctorate from the University of Maryland Dental School in 2001 as class valedictorian. After dental school, Dr. Tilman served as a Dental Officer in the United States Navy for four years. During this time, he completed a one year hospital-based General Practice Residency, and served for two years onboard USS Ashland (LSD 48) where he was deployed for six months in the Arabian Gulf. After completing his military service, Dr. Tilman worked in a private practice in Virginia Beach for one year until moving to Newport in June of 2006.Dr. Tilman is a member of the Academy of General Dentistry whose members are committed to continuing education to keep their practices current with the latest and safest techniques. He also belongs to the American Dental Association, the Rhode Island Dental Association, and the Newport County Dental Association.
Dr. Tilman is happily married to his beautiful wife, Keri. The two like to spend time with family and friends, enjoy traveling, music, and any outdoor activity.
Wendy Chapman, RDH
Wendy is one of our hygienists, she has been with the practice since 2004. Wendy has been in the dental field for 18 years. Prior to becoming a Dental Hygienist she worked as a dental assistant with a focus in Oral Surgery. She graduated from Middlesex Community College Dental Hygiene program in 1999. Wendy's goal in dental hygiene is to provide patients with an education on maintaining optimal oral health structured to the individual patient. Her focus is to make patients feel comfortable in a family oriented relaxed environment.
Wendy relocated from the Boston area three years ago to be close to her family. She has one daughter, Rachel who keeps her extremely busy with all of her extracurricular activities!
Elizabeth Chouinard, RDH
Liz has been a dental hygienist with the practice since 2004. She had been a certified dental assistant before taking time off to raise her three boys. When all of her boys had started school, Liz returned to Bristol Community College where she graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Dental Hygiene program in 2003. She prides herself in creating a relaxed and caring environment for her patients. Having a goal to meet the needs of each patient and to educate them about obtaining excellent oral health is very important to Liz.
Liz is married and she and her husband, Dennis, keep very busy with three teenage boys who all play a variety of sports
Kari Gordon, RDH
Kari is a great dental hygienist who has been with us since the end of 2008. She is in the office on Wednesdays and brings a great deal of experience and excellent personality. She and her family are in Newport for a short time for the Naval War College, but we couldn’t be happier to have her on our team.
Ruby Eaches, CDA Office Manager
Ruby has been with Newport Family and Cosmetic Dentistry since 2005. She began her dental career in the US Navy where she gained extensive knowledge in clinical dentistry. Since joining the practice, she has made a transition to the front office arena where she excels. She has a vast understanding of dental benefit plans and can help you make informed decisions about your dental care and financing. Ruby is originally from Colorado and has one son, John.
Lauren Tilley, Schedule Coordinator
Lauren joined the practice in 2009 and is responsible for our daily schedule. She is also from Newport and is studying to be a dental hygienist. Lauren will be happy to assist you in any way she can to arrange your dental visits in a timely and convenient manner.
Ellie Pollitt, Dental Assistant
Ellie has been with the practice for over 10 years. She is a native Newporter and can help patients new to the area get better acquainted with Newport. Ellie is a wealth of knowledge and experience and will make you feel welcome and comfortable during all of your visits.
Rheannon Pease, Dental Assistant
Rheannon is our newest team member. She is joining us from the insurance industry and is quickly on her way to becoming an excellent dental assistant. Rheannon will make you feel relaxed and comfortable for your visits.
Julienne Thomas, Honorary Dental Assistant
Julienne was a great member or our team for almost two years. She had a great professional and personal opportunity in Florida and sadly moved in August 2009. She will be missed, but will always be a part of our team. We all wish her and Jimmy the best!!
